Men's Rugby Club
WKU Men's Rugby Club
The WKU Men's Rugby Club is a club rich in tradition. Founded in the 70's, this club has introduced newcomers to the intense sport of rugby year in and year out. Not many students have the opportunity to play rugby before arriving at WKU. Most club members are students who have previously played other sports, such as soccer or football, or students who have not played a team sport before coming out to this club. But that's okay, because club members are more than happy to teach their beloved sport to anyone who is interested in learning. And once you start, you just can't stop!
Throughout the year, the club participates in numerous matches, home and away. They also compete in tournaments such as the "Heart of Dixie" in Huntsville, Alabama. Each year during Homecoming, the Men and Women's Clubs join together to host the "Annual Alumni Match" in which club members from years before come back to WKU and play against the current club members. This event is something the clubs and their alumni look forward to each year.
So if you are a "rugger" or would like to become one, the WKU Men's Rugby Club is the club for you! All WKU students, faculty, and staff are welcome to join the club. If you are interested in joining the Men's Rugby Club, please see the information to the right addressing club contact and practice information.
