Side by Side Exhibit

April 6 - June 30, 2023

The Side by Side exhibit is the final phase of an arts partnership between Arts for All and the Kentucky Museum. At the opening reception on Saturday,  May 13, 2023 at 2PM, students will be  recognized for their achievements in the program. Museum visitors can see the amazing art created by participants and their mentors now through June 30, 2023. 

About the Program

The Side by Side program was created by Arts for All Kentucky (formerly VSA) in 2004 for school age kids with special needs in communities across Kentucky.

Side by Side programs offer a series of studio art classes taught by an approved teaching artist. After completing the classes, young artists are partnered with a professional artist mentor from their community to create a collaborative piece. Side by Side classes were held February 11-March 11, 2023 at the Kentucky Museum.

Arts for All Kentucky is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing inclusive arts and education programs for children, youth, and adults with disabilities, in addition to, professional development for artists and teachers in schools and communities statewide.
