The Kentucky Museum has reported continued growth during the first quarter of the 2019-20 academic year. Compared to the same period (July – Sept) in 2018, the Museum has experienced…

• 63% increase in visits by the general public,

• 59% increase in visits by WKU faculty, staff, and students, and

• 54% increase in membership support.

The Museum has also opened four new exhibitions, including Facing the Freshmen Year, which has been popular among WKU classes; Out of the Box, which featured the contributions of 11 WKU faculty members; Basketry Now: 10^th Anniversary Exhibition on loan from the National Basketry Organization; and the ZSEIFS Retrospective produced in partnership with the Office of International Programs. They continue to offer programming for K-12 field trips, WKU student FunShops, close study of collections for WKU classes, and annual celebrations such as the upcoming Christmas in Kentucky.

Carpenter Foundation,” stated Development and Marketing Manager, Tiffany Isselhardt, “whose gift of free admission for our visitors has prompted incredible growth at the Museum. It has truly been a dream come true to see so many smiling and curious faces here every day.”
