In February 2022, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Kentucky Office of Inspector General awarded the University of Kentucky a 3-year, Civil Money Penalty grant to purchase a license to implement Bingocize^® – a combination of exercise and the game of bingo – in 30 Certified Nursing Facilities across Kentucky. Dr. Jason Crandall, Bingocize® Creator and Co-Director of the WKU Center for Applied Science in Health & Aging, said: “CASHA is excited to partner with UK, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, the Kentucky OIG office, and the other Kentucky universities to share Bingocize® with older adults. We are confident the nursing home residents will have fun and benefit from the program in the coming months and years."
