BOWLING GREEN, Ky – WKU's Recreation, Park, and Nonprofit Administration program is hosting its WKU Camp & Recreation Job Fair on March 6, 2023 from 11am to 3pm in DSU 1st Floor Lobby.
The Camp, Recreation, and Related Professions Job Fair is the perfect opportunity for employers to recruit talented students looking for rewarding positions (part-time, full-time, internships, seasonal). Camp and recreation agencies typically offer a variety of jobs in many different areas (i.e. recreation, event planning and management, youth leadership, music, art, technology, ministry, recreation/sport skills instruction, aquatics, equestrian, etc.). This diversity greatly increases the likelihood of students finding a position that fits their interests and complements their area of study.
The 2023 job fair will feature 19 employers in the broad categories of parks and recreation, local attractions, camps, and scouting. A list of registered employers can be found online at https://www.wku.edu/recreation/jobfair.php
This job fair, last held in February 2020, was intended to be the start of an annual event, but the COVID-19 pandemic got in the way. The faculty in the WKU Recreation, Park, and Nonprofit Administration program hope to offer this event each year going forward.
"This job fair is an opportunity for our program to accomplish two important purposes: 1) raise WKU student awareness of meaningful jobs in our profession, and 2) help students and organizations connect with each other to fill these jobs," stated Dr. Raymond Poff, a faculty member in the WKU Recreation, Park, and Nonprofit Administration degree program (School of Kinesiology, Recreation & Sport - College of Health and Human Services).
