Bowling Green Parks and Recreation may have just what you need. With several current needs, our students should find plenty of opportunities to:
- earn contact hours
- gain valuable experience
- build their professional network
- feel great about their work

Parker Bennett Center will be needing volunteers for the following programs…
- PBCC Homework Club: Homework Assistance
Time: 2:15pm – 3:45pm
Dates: Mon-Fri starting September 2013 – May 2014
Needs: Help 1st - 6th graders with homework.
- After School Program: For youth ages 6 – 14.
Dates: Mon-Fri starting September 2013 – May 2014
Time: 2:30pm – 5:30pm
Needs: Volunteers to monitor kids with games, help set up/take down events etc.
- September (Back to School Bash): For youth ages 10 – 13.
Dates: September 6, 2013
Time: 7pm - 9pm
Needs: Volunteers to monitor kids and assist with the dance
(Outdoor Dodge ball Tournament): For 8– 13 year olds.
Dates: September 20th & 27th, 2013
Time: 4pm-6pm
Needs: Volunteers to monitor kids and games, help set up/take down event etc.
- October (Haunted Center ): For 5 – 13 year olds.
Dates: October 31st, 2013
Time: 7pm-9pm
Needs: Volunteers to monitor kids, help set up/take down event etc.
- November (Thanksgiving Dinner): For 5 – 13 year olds.
Dates: November 26, 2013
Time: 4pm-6pm
Needs: Volunteers to monitor kids, help set up/take down event etc.
- December (Christmas Party ): For 5 – 13 year olds.
Dates: December 20, 2013
Time: 4pm-6pm

F.O. Moxley Community Center
Volunteers are needed for the following programs……
- After-School Program – Help youth with homework, arts & crafts, fitness programs, games and field trips
- Dates: Monday – Friday (September 3rd through May 22nd )
- Time: 2:30pm-6pm
- Where: F. O. Moxley Community Center
- Program for Kindergarten – 6th grade
- Biddy Ball Basketball League – Assist with Coaching, Refereeing, Scoring, Sign-In Table
- Dates: Saturdays September 14, 21, 28 & October 5, 13, 19
- Time: 9:00am & 10:00am games
- Where: F. O. Moxley Community Center
- Youth basketball program geared toward 3-5 year olds to introduce them the fundamentals of the game
- Fall Break Day Camp – Help with programming and leading activities for youth
- Dates: October 7-11, 2013
- Time: 7:00am – 5:30pm
- Where: F. O. Moxley Community Center
- Day Camp for youth ages 5-13 year olds; includes field trip
- Pumpkin Palooza- Assist with set up/break down of event, serve snacks, lead small games, monitor trail of pumpkins.

- Place: Circus Square
- Fun Fall Family event that will showcase a Jack-O-Lantern stroll
- Halloween Party – Assist with set up/break down of event, lead games and activities

- Party for After-School programs K-6th grades
- Youth Dodge Ball League – Referees, Court monitors, Sign-In Table
- Dates: November 14, 21, 25, & December 5, 12, 2013
- Time: 5:30pm – 7:30pm
- Where: F. O. Moxley Community Center
- Program for 6-13 years
- Lunch & Learn – Assist with craft project and make and serve lunch for senior adults
- Date: December 11, 2013
- Time: 11am-1:30pm
- Ages: Senior Adults
- Fee: FREE
- Where: F.O. Moxley Community Center Community Room
- Buddy the Elf Pajama Party– Assist with set up/break down, lead games and activities, help with hot chocolate bar and watch movie “Elf” and and help prepare breakfast.
- Date: December 20th, 2013
- Time: 7pm – 7am
- Where: F.O. Moxley Community Center/Roland Bland Park
- Sleep over for 5-13 year olds to take part in a camping experience
- F.O. Moxley Community Center – Monitor game room, TV room & gym during free play
- Dates: Monday – Thursday 2:30pm-7pm; Sundays 2:00pm-6:00pm

Special Olympics Kentucky
Softball Scorekeepers/Umpires – SEPT 13-15.
Bowling Green / Warren County Special Olympics will be hosting the 2013 Special Olympics Kentucky State Softball Tournament on September 13-15. The tournament will be held at Buchanon Park and will need approximately 8 scorekeepers. Games will be scheduled from 8am – 5pm and volunteers that can assist with any amount of those games would be appreciated. Prior experience is helpful but NOT mandatory. Individuals interested in assisting at this event should call 393-3480 by August 30th for more information.
Area 5 Special Olympics Bowling Tournament – November 2.
Bowling Green / Warren County Special Olympics will be hosting the 2013 Area 5 Special Olympics Tournament on November 2. The tournament will be in Bowling Green at Southern Lanes. Approximately 55 individuals will be needed in the following jobs: Lane Workers and Awards. The tournament is scheduled from 8:00am-1:00pm and individuals are welcome to assist with the entire event; only from 8am-11:30am; or only from 11:00am-1:00pm. Groups or individuals interested in assisting at this event should call 393-3480 by October 25th for more information.
