IYO Cuba Events Coming Up

James Counts Early, Director of Cultural Studies and Communication at the Center for Folklife Programs and Cultural Studies at the Smithsonian Institution, will present Ice Cream and Capitalism: Doing Business in the New Cuba at 4 p.m. Thursday at Grise Hall’s Guillaume Auditorium.
Renesito Avich, a traditional Cuban musician, will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center Recital Hall. He will present masterclasses for WKU students at 4 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Gordon Wilson Hall Lab Theatre.
IYO Cuba exhibits -- The String Project and The Island of My Love: The Faces and Stories of Cuba -- continue through next week at the Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center Gallery.
