Biography
Krista Shartzer Steenbergen, Senior Director of College Philanthropy, is in her eighteenth year of higher education philanthropy at WKU. She provides direction and leadership in strategic priority planning for Ogden College of Science and Engineering and the College of Health and Human Services, while leading the team that provides fundraising support to all of the colleges at WKU.
Prior to her current position, she served as Director of Development for Ogden College of Science and Engineering and provided leadership and support as a member of the team that led WKU in its first ever comprehensive campaign raising $102 million and their second successful effort at over $200 million. These efforts included numerous professorships in Ogden College, expanded scholarship opportunities in all the STEM disciplines and facilitating naming opportunities in the college and the Augenstein Alumni Center.
Steenbergen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Government and a Master’s of Public Administration from Western Kentucky University. She is an active member of the Engineering Development Forum and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and she has presented on topics related to institutional advancement on the local, state and national level.
Member of WKU’s Society of 1906, Cupola Society, President’s Circle and a Lifetime Member of the WKU Alumni Association.
