- Instructor, AFAM
I enjoy teaching. I love to impart the knowledge that I have acquired to students so that they can succeed in life. As a teacher in the liberal arts, my principal goals are to contribute to students’ education in the liberal arts and to help them understand sociological and historical perspectives. In my view, a central feature of a successful college education is growth in understanding of and appreciation for logical inquiry and critical analysis of ideas and evidence.
After taking some sociology classes at the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, my dream to become a lawyer one day changed totally. Mr. Yaw Agyei, one of my Sociology Instructors, inspired me to love the subject. The study of sociology has enabled me to understand society and how it functions. I have been a teacher throughout my life at different levels, from primary, high school to university. I like using the phrase, “do you understand?”; “do you have any question?” when I am teaching.
My favorite quote in life is, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’.
I do gardening and running for fun.
