Why did you choose your career? Dr. Bohlander made me love criminal justice. I wanted to help people but I also loved the legal research side of things so probation is a great mix.
Who is your academic superhero (i.e. a fellow academic who inspires you), or general professional inspiration? Dr. Bohlander made learning fun. He was my inspiration.
What word or phrase do you most overuse while teaching? "Any questions??"
Favorite Quote? "Character is how you treat people who can do nothing for you" -Unknown
What do you do for fun? Hang out with friends and family, short hikes, play with my dogs.
How would you describe the relevance of your field in today’s society? Due to recent current events and budget issues, criminal justice reform is the most relevant it has been since I have been studying it. Prison overcrowding and different attitudes toward drug addiction; as well as the criminalization of certain drugs and policing issues are a major topic today.
