WKU Institute for Rural Health collaborates with Center for Applied Science in Health and Aging on wellness promotion

The Western Kentucky University (WKU) Institute for Rural Health (IRH) is excited to announce a collaboration with the Center for Applied Science in Health and Aging (CASHA) on a new Bingocize® workshop focusing on exercise, COVID-19, Influenza, Shingles, and Pneumonia education and wellness promotion.
Dr. Kim Link, Co-Director of the IRH, is co-principal investigator of the project, along with Dr. Jason Crandall, Creator of Bingocize® and Co-Director of CASHA, Dr. Mark Schafer, CASHA Research Fellow, and Dr. Kara Haughtigan from the CHHS School of Nursing and Allied Health.
This project is being funded through a partnership with the Aging and Disability Vaccination Collaborative led by USAging, in which over $152,000 will be used to create, provide, and assist in the delivery of the new Bingocize® workshop.
“The Institute for Rural Health is thrilled to be a part of this Bingocize® workshop that not only focuses on vaccination education, but also incorporates activities that promote daily habits to improve immunity, wellness, and illness prevention in older adults across Kentucky”, said Kim Link.
