The Interior Design program of the WKU College of Health and Human Services plans to enhance its technological capabilities thanks to a $14,000 grant from WKU Sisterhood. The grant will fund the purchase of two high-performance computers, enabling students to create realistic 3D renderings and walk-throughs critical for their design development process.
Interior designers often rely on renderings and 3D images to bring their ideas to life and help clients visualize spaces in a way that flat drawings cannot. The new computers will allow WKU Interior Design students to experiment with various design elements, including furniture, materials, and finishes while developing essential skills to create compelling and practical designs. These resources will also ensure that WKU students remain competitive and technologically advanced among students across Kentucky.
The $14,000 award is part of a larger $65,960 in grant money distributed by the WKU Sisterhood for 2024. The organization celebrated 15 years of service during its annual fall meeting on November 8. In total, WKU Sisterhood awarded grants for four University initiatives.
