Message from the Provost
- Thursday, December 2nd, 2021
Dear Colleagues,
As the fall semester approaches its end, I want to take this opportunity to congratulate you on a successful semester during what continues to be challenging times. I hope that over the semester you have heard my appreciation for your dedication to our students, support of your colleagues, and commitment to the endeavors of teaching, research and creative scholarship and service throughout this academic year. Once again, thank you very much for your commitment to the success of WKU!
With the end of the semester comes final exams and we all can feel the stress levels across campus begin to rise. I ask you to be mindful of the stresses facing your students and yourselves. If you see a student or a colleague struggling, please consider reaching out to lend a hand and help them find the support services needed so they can make it successfully through the end of the semester.
I also encourage you to do what many of you are already doing, and that is to take a few moments to check in with all your students. I know they would very much appreciate your interest in their academic success and personal well-being.
Lastly, in the short time I have been on campus, I am continually impressed by your dedication to our students and the success of the WKU community. I am so proud to now be a member of the WKU community and thank you for your compassion and your continuing efforts to educate, mentor, and support our students.
Sincerely,
Robert "Bud" Fischer
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
