The Department of Finance and the BB&T Center for Capitalism are sponsoring a lecture on Ethics in Business and Government on November 16th at 2:00 p.m. in the Grise Auditorium.
Primer:
What happens when business and government collide with the forces of political corruption? Lou Pavledes knows all too well and his story is riveting.
Ten years ago, Pavledes was forced to make a fateful decision that resulted in a federal prison sentence and huge personal loss.
Lou now lectures on ethics in business and government, the invaluable lessons learned, and scandal, criminal and contingent risk management. He has guest lectured at universities and conferences, chaired four professional association conferences, and is authoring several books on related subjects.
With B.S. and M.S. degrees and 33 years experience in facility management, Lou is now a consultant for commercial real estate, governments, developers, universities, hotels, entertainment/convention/hospitality/tourism and CVB’s, restaurants, manufacturing, and small businesses, specializing in start-ups and restructuring.
He has served on many international, state, and civic association Boards of Directors, and has won numerous awards for service to the industry.
Lou spends his free time as a hobby artist (painting) and designer, and also enjoys the arts, golf, backpacking and sailing.
- Location: Grise Hall Auditorium
- Time: 11:30am - 12:00pm
U.S. Senator Rand Paul (KY) will speak at WKU on Friday, November 18th at 11:30 a.m. in the Grise Hall Auditorium (GH 235). This is an opportunity for faculty and students to interact with one of their U.S. Senators, and it is open to all faculty, students, and the public. An ID scanner will be used to track student attendance.
This presentation is made possible through cooperation between the Departments of Economics and Political Science and is co-sponsored by the BB&T Center for the Study of Capitalism.
The Gordon Ford College of Business is a top business school with dual AACSB accreditation in both business and accounting programs.
