Kay Meggers is the Global President, Global Rolled Products of Alcoa. He is responsible for Alcoa’s global mill products and rigid packaging businesses. He also oversees the Australian rolled products businesses, and Alcoa’s operations in Russia. Dr. Meggers was elected a vice president of Alcoa in June 2011 and is a member of the Alcoa Executive Council, the Company’s senior leadership group that sets strategic direction.
Dr. Meggers most recently led the Business Excellence/Corporate Strategy (BC) resource unit, composed of the BC Projects, Growth and Market Strategy, and Corporate Quality teams, and is also responsible for overseeing the Company’s Asia-Pacific region. He joined Alcoa in 2010 as Vice President, Corporate Initiatives, a position responsible for planning and coordinating major strategic initiatives from enhancing technology and innovation as part of the Alcoa Technology Advantage program to spearheading growth
strategies for China and Brazil.
Dr. Meggers received a Diploma in Physics in 1991 from the Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel, Germany. In 1995 after extensive research in applied nuclear physics and materials science, including at the U.S. National Laboratories in Los Alamos, New Mexico, he earned his Doctorate degree also from the Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel.
