Gordon Ford College of Business Student Research Accepted to International Conference
- Monday, February 19th, 2024
Jonathan Roberts, a senior Business Data Analytics student, achieves a significant research milestone. His research proposal, entitled "Harmonizing Bounded Rationality and AI: A New Paradigm for Organizational Decision-Making in Uncertain Times" has been accepted for presentation at the INFORMS Advances in Decision Analysis Conference (ADA 2024) at Aalto University in Helsinki-Espo, Finland.
Dr. Lily Popova-Zhuhadar, Director of the Center for Applied Data Analytics, said this is a massive accomplishment for Jonathan because, typically, only doctoral students have their research accepted at the INFORMS Conferences.
"His work 'Harmonizing Bounded Rationality and AI' introduces an innovative approach to decision-making in times of uncertainty. Aided by a $4,000 FUSE grant, his journey underscores the academia-industry collaboration in bringing international insights to the fore," said Dr. Zhuhadar.
The WKU Office of Sponsored Programs supported Jonathan's research through the Faculty-Student Undergraduate Scholarship Fund (FUSE) with an international focus. The FUSE grant will cover Jonathan's travel expenses to Finland. Jonathan will receive an additional grant and monetary compensation to continue his research.
Jonathan said he is excited about this opportunity and is thankful for the support and advice from the Department of Analytics and Information Systems faculty.
Congratulations, Jonathan, on your achievement
