WKU Student Places Third in Regional Business Plan Competition
- Wednesday, March 25th, 2015
Samantha McCormick, an entrepreneurship major from Bowling Green, placed third in the regional competition for Idea State U, a statewide business plan competition designed to encourage innovation among collegians.
McCormick won $500 and the opportunity to advance to state competition to be held April 24-25 in Lexington.
Her business plan, Taboo Dance & Fitness, has won two previous awards – the WKU Business Plan Competition and WKU Topper Tank.
“We are excited that Samantha has this opportunity to compete at the state level with her plan," said Dawn Bolton, Interim Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. "She has worked hard for four years toward this goal of making her business a reality. Winning these competitions not only validates her efforts, but provides her funding necessary to launch Taboo Dance & Fitness."
The Gordon Ford College of Business is a top business school with dual AACSB accreditation in both business and accounting programs.
