Accounting Student Completes Leadership Program
- Wednesday, August 26th, 2015
WKU sophomore accounting major Rebecca Zimberg completed the annual Kentucky Society of CPAs College Leadership Institute on August 8.
Ms. Zimberg was one of 21 students representing nine colleges and universities from the Commonwealth to participate in the program, which is designed to help accounting majors develop professional and leadership skills. Sessions were designed to enhance communication and networking skills, including helping students perform well during job interviews.
“It was great exposure for me to attend this as a sophomore,” Zimberg said. “Most of the other students participating were upperclassmen so I was able to ask a lot of questions and get a lot of information from them.”
Zimberg added that she was able to network with various accounting professionals, affirming her belief that she would like to pursue accounting as her profession.
“I feel now that I have a game plan for the next few years,” she said. “I am excited about my future in accounting.”
The Gordon Ford College of Business is a top business school with dual AACSB accreditation in both business and accounting programs.
