Two WKU students were among the award winners during the annual Idea State U competition, a business plan competition designed to identify and support the next generation of Kentucky innovators and entrepreneurs. Idea State U took place April 22 in Lexington.

Muamer Razic, a senior organizational leadership major with minors in sales and entrepreneurship from Bowling Green, captured the grand prize of $25,000 for the business plan for Level Lacrosse. Level Lacrosse is developing a custom analytical tool for lacrosse players, the Feeder. The Feeder will help coaches, players, and parents quantify player performance and growth through analytical feedback and metrics.

Kendra Mitchell, a senior exercise science major with an entrepreneurship minor from Princeton, placed third in the Business Model portion of the competition, winning $3,000. Mitchell’s business is called Fetch & Flex. Mitchell also won the 60-second pitch competition, earning another $100. Fetch & Flex is developing a gym that allows members to help dog owners and their pets exercise and have a workout companion.

“We are very excited and proud to see our students win top prizes at this state-level competition,” said Dr. Dawn Bolton, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.
