Sultan Alotaibi is a business administration major from Saudi Arabia who was chosen to carry the flag from his home country during the GFCB Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, December 14.
He began his education at the King Fahad Security College to learn about his country’s military practices before coming to WKU to earn a business degree. After graduation, he will return to Saudi Arabia to finish his military degree in pursuit of becoming a police officer.
Alotaibi said he enjoyed his time at WKU.
“I didn’t only learn about the academic material but I learned how to use the knowledge for my future job,” he said. I learned about difference cultures and how to use cultural differences to your advantage. I also attended CEO lectures talking about their experiences, which makes me ready for my future.”
His brother was in attendance to watch him carry his country’s flag in E.A. Diddle Arena on Saturday but his parents watched from Saudi Arabia.
GFCB's Recognition Ceremony can be seen on the College's Facebook page or at WKU.edu/commencement.
