Background Check & I-9 Verification
Notify your employee they will receive two emails from email@example.com. One will be to provide consent for the background check and the other will be to complete section 1 of the I-9 employment eligibility form.
The background check must be completed before the expected hire date. No one can begin employment without a completed background check. Section 1 (employee section) of the I-9 must be completed on or before the first day of employment. Email notification will be sent to the department when the background check is completed.
HR Registration & Pre-Onboarding
Below you will see temporary changes to this process that have been implemented in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
With new remote working conditions, there are now two ways to complete the registration/pre-onboarding process:
- Remote Option: The Form I-9 is initiated after the background check is completed. A separate email is sent with tax and direct deposit forms along with specific instructions on how to complete and return the forms remotely.
- In-Person Option: The employee can schedule an appointment to meet with Jo Ann Malott. During this appointment, the employee will return the tax and direct deposit forms that were emailed after completion of the background check and provide appropriate identification required for the Form I-9.
