WKU Human Resources welcomes Quenna Thompson as our new Human Resources Operations Manager.
Quenna is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Compensation, Employment, Employee Relations, and Data functions in the department. She received a Bachelor of Science in Management in 2003 and Master of Arts in Organization Leadership from Western Kentucky University (WKU) in 2015. Quenna began her higher education experience here at WKU and returns with 10+ years of human resources experience in higher education which includes Eastern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky, and University of Louisville. Quenna has been an integral part of many HR teams such as Employee Relations, Compensation, FMLA, and serving in a HRBP role. A few of Quenna’s notable accomplishments are assisting with the implementation of new HRIS software, and a new Compensation Study.
Quenna currently serves as the President for the KY CUPA-HR Chapter and has earned the certifications of PHR (Professional in Human Resources) and SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional). Quenna has a passion for working within higher education and enjoys the relationship building and employee relations portion of human resources.
While developing her career over the past 10 years, Quenna enjoys spending time with her husband of soon to be 9 yrs. and her two beautiful daughters ages 5 & 7.
