SJ&B PR GRADS WIN AWARD FROM PRSA NASHVILLE

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Five 2014 public relations graduates from Western Kentucky University’s School of Journalism & Broadcasting and WKU’s Public Affairs Office both won awards for excellence in public relations campaigns and projects at the 29th annual PRSA Nashville Parthenon Awards announced Thursday, April 23.
Graduates Jennifer Anderson of Frankfort, Katie DePriest of Nashville, Kristen Foltz of Hebron, Jordan Kassel of Louisville, and Katherine Rogers of Glasgow received a Parthenon in the student category with an awareness campaign conducted in the 2014 capstone class.
The WKU PRSSA members, Team HillPoppers, developed an awareness campaign on the financial product Popmoney that encouraged the target audience to use the personal payment service. Team HillPoppers collaborated with Franklin Bank & Trust in Bowling Green in an effort to change perceptions of the money transfer system.
WKU Public Affairs earned a Certificate of Merit in new media-interactive CD-ROM for the Skipper Bob Mean Tweets video.
