Matt Long received a BFA in Performing Arts at WKU in 2002, and continues to maintain a relationship with his professors in the Department of Theatre and Dance. While at WKU Long performed in "You're a Good man Charlie Brown", "Pippin", "Picasso at the Lapin Agile", "The Winter's Tale", and "Chicago".

Dr. David Young, department head of Theatre and Dance and a mentor to the actor, noted: "We all saw promise in Matt from the very beginning. He was not only very talented, but also just a great person."
