Colonnade Courses
Learning to love theatre and dance isn’t just for our majors. We want everyone to understand and value the arts. The Department of Theatre & Dance offers four courses as part of the Colonnade Program of general education classes. At the Explorations level we offer DANC 110: Dance Appreciation and THEA 151: Theatre Appreciation. At the Connections level we offer DANC 360: Dance in Culture and THEA 341: Culture and Performance.
Honors Theatre and Dance Courses
The department of Theatre & Dance offers Honors sections of many classes. For example, Honors sections are available for most 200 through 400 level dance technique courses. There’s also typically Honors sections of classes like Fundamentals of Theatre, Topics in Drama, and Dance History. Enrollment in an Honors section may include higher expectations in assignments, deeper research and discussion, and/or opportunities to see professional performances.
