Department of Theatre & Dance Staff

Amanda Poitras is a graduate of the University of Kentucky. A native of Kentucky, she has trained in dance since the age of five. She has engaged in the commercial and competitive aspects of dance throughout her dance training with experience in diverse forms of jazz dance performance. During her time at UK, she was a thriving member of the Dance Team and the UK Dance Ensemble. She has performed works by nationally recognized choreographers, Mia Michaels, Mark Meismer, Liz Imperio, Dennis Caspary, Keri Legrand, Jason Snow, Stephanie Campbell and Nick Bass. Additionally, she has studied with Nikki Snelson, David Foresman, Michael Cadle, and Meghan Way Stinson and at Broadway Dance Center. Amanda has extensive experience in teaching and business administration within the private sector. In addition to her work within the private sector, Amanda teaches part-time within the WKU Dance Program and is the instructor of technical training for the WKU Dance Team.
