Department of Theatre & Dance Staff

Gabriela Castillo (She/Her) is a recent graduate of Michigan State University (MSU) with an MFA in Theatre Design. While continuing her career as a scenic designer, painter, and carpenter, at MSU, she designed Spring Awakening, Much ado about Nothing, Sweat, and Head over Heels. Prior to seeking her MFA she worked in Columbia, MD as a deck chief and run crew for five years at Toby’s Dinner Theatre. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) she designed scenery and worked paint and construction over hire in the DMV area. She is excited to bring a decade’s worth of carpentry knowledge to the WKU Theatre & Dance department!
