Tom Tutino is a tenured professor who joined the faculty in 1990 and holds an MFA in Scenic Design from Boston University. Tom did his undergraduate work here at WKU. He is a member of United Scenic Artists and was a founding member of the Public Theatre of Kentucky and in fact designed the Phoenix Theatre. Here in Kentucky his work has also been seen at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Music Theatre Louisville, Stage One and Kentucky Repertory Theatre. Across the country he has designed for Cumberland County Playhouse (TN); Broadway Palm, Seaside Music Theater (FL);Mac-Haydn Theatre (NY); Dutch Apple Theatre (PA), Little Theatre on the Square, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre (IL); Off Square Theatre (WY); Broadway Palm West (AZ) and others. Tom designed the world premiere of the new edition of the musical Two By Two, directed by Martin Charnin as well as world premieres of The Fourth Nail, Ben Franklin’s Apprentice, Pinocchio (a musical released on video by GlobalStage) and Raven’s Gift. In addition to his course load, Tom also supervises students who are interested in scenery, props and scenic painting.
