Gordon Ford College of Business Student Fees
As part of Western Kentucky University’s transition to a standardized college fee system, the Gordon Ford College of Business (GFCB) will update its existing fee structure. Since 2015, GFCB has used fees to enhance student learning by funding valuable resources such as tutoring, career coaching, internship support, professional development programs, student travel, faculty development, and improvements to classroom technology and study spaces.
Beginning in Fall 2025, the GFCB fee will increase from $15 to $20 per credit hour, representing the first increase since its inception. This adjustment is necessary to keep pace with the rising costs of delivering high-quality student experiences, including increased opportunities for student travel to competitions, conferences, and networking events. These experiences provide valuable real-world learning and career preparation; but expenses such as transportation, lodging, and registration fees have grown significantly in recent years.
This change aligns with WKU’s university-wide effort to simplify billing, make costs more predictable, and ensure that students have access to essential academic and career preparation resources. The new structure also eliminates program-specific fees and discipline-specific course fees, reducing unexpected expenses and making college costs more transparent.
By investing in these resources, GFCB ensures that students continue to receive the hands-on learning, career readiness support, and real-world experiences needed for long-term success.
