WKU Entrepreneurship Center Topper Tank Competition
- Thursday, October 23rd, 2014
The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and the Gordon Ford College of Business will conduct the inaugural Topper Tank Elevator Pitch Competition on November 13.
The Topper Tank allows students with a business idea or invention to present a 90-second pitch to a group of business professionals, akin to the popular ABC show “Shark Tank.” Winning ideas will be awarded a cash prize and a personal consultation with the judges.
“The Center enjoys providing opportunities for students to meet with business professionals to receive feedback and assistance that will help them further their ideas,” said Dr. Dawn Bolton, Interim Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.
Students on any of WKU’s campuses may participate in the event. Each Regional Campus will have a specific location where students will present the information about their business idea via interactive video to the professionals on Main Campus.
“The Gordon Ford College of Business is proud of the role our faculty and staff play in providing resources that nurture student ideas from idea to fruition,” said Dr. Jeffrey Katz, Dean of the College. “The College has a long history of supporting entrepreneurial-minded students.”
The deadline for students to submit their idea via email is November 3. Interested students should visit the Center for Entrepreneurship website -- www.wku.edu/cei -- for specific details on what to include in the email.
