Jennifer Travelsted and Danielle Smith, founders of Barre Co. in Bowling Green definitely raised the “Barre” on entrepreneurship while speaking to more than 40 entrepreneurial students on March 20 in Grise Hall.
Travelsted and Smith, former Hilltoppers with backgrounds in cheerleading and gymnastics, are dedicated to strengthening and increasing the flexibility and endurance level of anyone that steps into their studio. Barre Co. is a fitness studio whose techniques are influenced by the Lotte Berk Method, Pilates, ballet, and controlled breath.
During their presentation, Travelsted and Smith discussed how partnering together helped them gain their entrepreneurial success. They recommended knowing your market and not waiting to follow your dreams.
They also enlisted student volunteers to demonstrate the types of exercises they instruct in their classes at the studio.
“It is always exciting to have speakers like Jennifer and Danielle in front of our students,” said Dr. Dawn Bolton, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. “They are a shining example of how to take something they love and are passionate about and making it their business!”
The Gordon Ford College of Business is a top business school with dual AACSB accreditation in both business and accounting programs.
