The GFCB Makes the Honor Roll for Beta Gamma Sigma
- Friday, February 15th, 2019
The WKU Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma international honor society for students in business has earned Highest Honors designation for the 2017-18 academic year. This is the highest level of recognition a chapter can earn in the BGS Honor Roll Program, which commends the GFCB's commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and student success.
"Qualifying for highest honors is indicative of a campus where academic excellence is highly valued and where the facuulty officers of the chapter work diligently to enhance Beta Gamma Sigma's stature on campus," said Chris Carosella, CEO of Beta Gamma Sigma.
BGS chapters are only allowed at institutions that have earned AACSB accreditation, which are the top 5% of business school programs worldwide. Members in the honor society represent the top 10% of juniors and seniors and the top 20% of graduate students in the College.
The week of February 18-22 is Beta Gamma Sigma Week in the College of Business, when the chapter will invite nearly 60 students to become members of the society. Students will learn of their invitation to the honor society during surprise visits to their classrooms by the GFCB Dean and the chapter advisors in a transiton called "tapping." The Induction Ceremony will take place on April 4.
The Gordon Ford College of Business is a top business school with dual AACSB accreditation in both business and accounting programs.
