Biography

Dr. Golnaz Motie is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Western Kentucky University. Her research interests are international economics, applied macroeconomics and forecasting, especially foreign investment and its effects on real GDP. She completed her PhD from West Virginia University in 2018 and worked as an instructor at Bowling Green State University before joining WKU. She earned masters degrees in economics from West Virginia University and the University of Warwick, UK. Dr. Motie’s non-academic work experience includes being an economic analyst for banks in Iran and an economic analyst for companies in the UK. Golnaz’s papers have appeared in Contemporary Economic Policy and Journal of Consumer Affairs. She has also been a board member of Kentucky Economic Association since December 2020.
