                As the Assistant Director of the International Student Office, Toni’s role is to oversee the operations of the international student and scholar services which begins with admission and goes beyond graduation to assist with practical training opportunities. She also oversees the services of international orientation, immigration advising, health insurance enrollment, and student programming. Toni serves as the main point of contact for the academic departments wishing to host a visiting professor or researcher which includes working with each host department individually to ensure the scholar receives accurate immigration documents and information on maintaining their visa status. 

             Toni earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at Grand Valley State University in her home state of Michigan in 2004 and studied abroad in Spain in 2003. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University in Boston, Massachusetts in 2012.  Toni’s experience as Study Abroad Advisor and then International Student and Scholar Advisor along with her participation  in NAFSA’s Trainer Corps program which teaches new university staff from all over the United States about the F-1 and J-1 visa regulations have prepared her for her role as Assistant Director of the International Student Office.
