WKU Jazz Band Auditions

Fall 2024 Jazz Band Auditions:

 

Auditions are required for ALL students interested in participating in Jazz Band,

including new AND returning jazz students.

 

All Jazz Band auditions will be held in Music Hall, Rm 103 (Instrumental Rehearsal Hall)

on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024 from 1:45 - 3:40 pm

 

 

**Attention Rhythm Section Players!!!**

Bass amp and guitar amps will be available in IRH – bring your own patch cord and instrument

 

 

Drummers – please make arrangements with Dr. Herbert BEFORE your audition to assemble the drum set located in the Jazz Storage room.

Jazz Band Audition Repertoire:

 

All saxes, brass, bass, piano, guitar and vibes = “Two Plus Two” Jazz Etude

B-flat Clarinet = “Begin the Beguine” Excerpt

 

Drumset =  8 bars of Swing feel

8 bars of latin feel

8 bars of rock or funk feel
