3/13/25 Lunar Eclipse and Blood Moon
- Monday, March 17th, 2025

Students and members of the Hilltopper Astronomy Club enjoyed the total lunar eclipse of 2025. This is a rare event and will not happen again in Bowling Green until 2044. As the moon passed into the greatest part of the Earth’s shadow, the umbra, it turned from bright white to a reddish-orange color. While you can see this phenomenon with just your eyes, students and members used cameras paired with telescopes to create beautiful images.
A community of faculty, staff, and students engaged in better understanding the physical world.
