J. Michael Kosterlitz, Harrison E Farnsworth Professor of Physics at Brown University and 2016 Nobel Laureate in Physics, will present a public lecture entitled "A Random Walk Through Physics to the Nobel Prize" on Tuesday, July 17 at 7:30 PM in OCH.
This lecture is presented as part of the WKU Cultural Enhancement Series and in conjunction with the 33rd Summer Conference on Topology and its Applications which will be held at WKU.
For more information please contact Dr. Sanju Gupta at sanju.gupta@wku.edu.
“The talk is the story of my random walk through physics via Cambridge, Oxford, Turin and Birmingham finishing up at BrownUniversity. I describe my very crooked path through life including physics and my other life as a mountaineer. I will also include a somewhat simplified version of my Nobel prize winning work on topological phases of matter.”
