Nurse leaders and educators have an obligation to ensure that professional and educational settings are free from negative behaviors like bias and discrimination. Microaggressions are forms of bias and discrimination, which are manifested in offensive and intimidating insults and behaviors that occur every day towards marginalized groups of people. Learn the types of microaggressions and examples of each. In addition, discover strategies for prevention and for the role of advocacy, and other key principals. Hear about the findings from recent research in nursing education and from the literature. Only when awareness is present can we take action to ensure a safe, inclusive, equitable work and learning environment. There will be time for Q & A at the end of the presentation.
The CE event will follow the meeting which starts at 6:00pm
