Through this course on Sex Addiction and Trauma Among Adolescents and Teens, students will have a better understanding on the impact that pornography and early exposure to sexually explicit materials have on the adolescent brain.  Students will have a better understanding of the cycle of addiction and the effects it can have on teens and adolescents and how to help treat those who struggle with this addiction in the most effective ways based on empirical research.  We will also discuss the growing effects of technology and social media in regard to sex addiction and teens.  This course will help counselors in training understand how to help reduce shame and guilt within young clients and the family to help them move toward understanding addiction and the recovery that is possible.
