Costume Design & Technology
Welcome to the Costume Shop!
The costume shop for the WKU Department of Theatre & Dance is a fun and vibrant place where students have the chance to become involved with all aspects of the costuming process, from design to production. Creative opportunities include designing costumes for departmental productions. You will learn draping dyeing, fabric modification, mask making, millinery work, and other costume craft techniques.
The shop serves as the laboratory for all technical costume classes and provides full support to all department Mainstage productions. We have a faculty member, Professor Pollatsek, who teaches classes in both design and technology. We also employ a talented student staff. Other opportunities for involvement include working wardrobe or makeup run-crew, and earning production credit for completing hours in the shop.
Please explore this site to learn about our costume facilities, and the costume design and production courses offered at WKU. Be sure to visit our Costume Gallery and see what we've been working on recently. For more information about our program or to arrange a visit to our shop please feel free to contact Professor Shura Pollatsek at shura.pollatsek@wku.edu.
