NATIONAL PAN-HELLENIC COUNCIL (NPHC)
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is the governing body for WKU's nine Historically African American letter sororities and fraternities. It was formed as a permanent organization on May 30, 1930 on the campus of Howard University, in Washington DC, with the following stated purpose and mission: "Unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organizations."
The WKU NPHC provides many on-campus activities during the school year such as educational programs, social events, and the Homecoming Step Show. The NPHC also works very closely with the Interfraternity Council (IFC) and Panhellenic Council to help foster the four main aspects of Greek life: scholarship, leadership, service, and sisterhood/brotherhood.

RECRUITMENT
NPHC does not have a formal recruitment process. You can reach out to each organization to identify what informational opportunities are available. Students need to attend Greek 101, which is a requirement of students interested in joining an NPHC organization. This workshop will educate attendees about NPHC history, WKU NPHC history, and things to do as one prepares to seek membership into an organization.
For additional information, please contact Amelia Kolb at amelia.kolb@wku.edu.
