Alesia Speer has taught piano for 25 years and maintains a private piano studio in Bowling Green, Ky. She is an active member of the Independent Music Teachers Association, where she has served as President, Vice-President, and Secretary. In 1999, she co-coordinated the first Music Rally in Kentucky. She is active as an accompanist for student (undergraduate and graduate) and guest recitals, and has also accompanied the WKU Chamber Singers, University Singers, Bowling Green Choral Society, KCDA Choir Festivals, and Flute Society of Kentucky. Mrs. Speer is a member of the Kentucky Music Teachers Association and Music Teachers National Association, and has adjudicated various piano competitions and festivals in Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana. She received her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Louisiana College where she was a Presser Scholar recipient. In 1999 she received a Master of Music from Western Kentucky University. Her teachers include Stephen Brown, Mary Ann Crump, Sylvia Kersenbaum, and Janet Bass Smith.
Western Kentucky University is a fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music since 1948.
