It was an exciting night for the Potter College of Arts and Letters (PCAL) and the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Thursday, September 8th.
PCAL sponsored the local baseball team’s College Night game against the Greensboro Grasshoppers. As guests walked in, members of the Dean’s Council of Students (DCS) handed out 50 free PCAL baseball hats and other merchandise. Additionally, guests were greeted with a commercial that showcased each department in PCAL.
The game was kicked off by Associate Dean, Dr. Jeff Budziak, who threw the ceremonial first pitch. Anna Gaddie, Department of Music student and DCS member, sang the National Anthem.
In total, 175 free tickets were given out to PCAL and WKU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and administration.
“Partnering with the Bowling Green Hot Rods to put on this game has been very exciting,” says Jessica Luna, Communications and Events Specialist for PCAL. “It is a delight to see members of the Bowling Green community and PCAL interact and join together for a night of fun. We strive to continue our community outreach efforts as the academic year progresses.”
Ultimately, the Bowling Green Hot Rods beat out the Greensboro Grasshoppers, winning 11-2. PCAL hopes to sponsor another Bowling Green Hot Rods game in Fall 2023.
