The Potter College of Arts and Letters at WKU has released their new podcast, PCAST: Empowered by PCAL.
The podcast will focus on topics related to each department within the academic college and how the arts, humanities, media, and social sciences can enact change in the world. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to participate in the process of creating episodes.
“We wanted to create the podcast to keep in touch with our PCAL students and alumni and continue to let them know of the great things happening in PCAL even though they might live far from campus,” says Music Education professor, Dr. Catherine Wilson. “We also wanted to reach out to others in the local and global community who enjoy the arts and humanities and might be interested in our programs.”
The first episode of the podcast features Department of Music professor, Dr. Melissa Keeling. A graduate of the Music Education program at WKU, Dr. Keeling discusses her journey to becoming a flutist and how her discovery of electronic pedals and effects impacted her career.
“The power of storytelling is a central figure within the Potter College of Arts and Letters,” says PCAL Dean, Dr. Terrance Brown. “PCAST allows us to continue this great tradition by telling various stories through the lens of the arts, humanities, media, and social sciences.”
Currently, PCAST can be found on Spotify. However, the podcast will be available on Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music soon. New episodes will release bi-weekly.
