Southern Kentucky Concert Band to present 29th Annual Twilight Concert Series

The Southern Kentucky Concert Band at WKU will present the 29th Annual Twilight Concert Series this month on the WKU campus.
The band will present Summertime at 7 p.m. Thursday (June 15) at Downing Student Union Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public and will feature music that celebrates summer. The program will include a Beach Boys Sing-a-Long, Summer Dances by Brian Balmages, Summer in Rio by Claude T. Smith, Manhattan Beach March by Sousa and Brighton Beach March by Latham as well as the hit song Summertime from George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, and much more.
Parking is free with access to the DSU Auditorium from Parking Structure 1 or 2.
The band will present its second and final concert of the 29th Annual Twilight Concert Series at 7:45 p.m. June 29 in the DSU Auditorium. The concert will feature prominent American patriotic music such as America the Beautiful, Sousa’s The Stars and Stripes Forever, along with the songs from all the branches of the armed forces, and much more.
