Author of Difficult Women, Roxane Gay speaks at Van Meter Hall on 2/8

Author of Difficult Women and Marvel’s World of Wakanda, Roxane Gay will be speaking at Van Meter Hall on Thursday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. CST as part of WKU’s Cultural Enhancement Series. Roxane Gay’s writing appears in Best American Mystery Stories 2014, Best American Short Stories 2012, Best Sex Writing 2012, A Public Space, McSweeney’s, Tin House, Oxford American, American Short Fiction, Virginia Quarterly Review, and many others. She is a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times. She is the author of the books Ayiti, An Untamed State, the New York Times bestselling Bad Feminist, Difficult Women, and Hunger.
Gay’s keynote topic will be “Difficult Women & Bad Feminist.” This is a first-come, first-serve event co-sponsored by WKU’s Gender and Women’s Studies Program. Admission is free, and the event is swipeable. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Limited disabled parking is located in Potter Lot and around Van Meter Hall. Roxane Gay’s books will be available for purchase in the lobby before and after the event. There will also be a book signing after the event.
