AMS Graduate Student Chapter at Western Kentucky University
- Monday, March 4th, 2024
The AMS Graduate chapter at Western Kentucky University, established in the Fall of 2015, "is dedicated to enhancing the scholarly and social experiences of its members. Throughout the academic year, they organize various events, including talks with guest speakers, research/work retreats, and social gatherings." They have recently created a chapter webpage for students to stay informed about news and events.
In an exciting development for the academic community at Western Kentucky University (WKU), the WKU AMS Graduate Student Chapter is teaming up with the WKU Math and SIAM Student Chapter for a collaborative initiative set to unfold in the upcoming spring 2024 semester.
The joint efforts will include a series of events, workshops, and activities designed to engage and enrich the academic experiences of students involved in mathematics and applied mathematics disciplines. The collaboration will create a platform for students to interact, share knowledge, and explore the diverse facets of mathematics in both theoretical and practical contexts.
"We are thrilled to announce this collaboration between the WKU AMS Graduate Student Chapter and the WKU Math and SIAM Student Chapter. It's a fantastic opportunity for our students to broaden their perspectives, collaborate with peers, and deepen their understanding of mathematics in various fields," said Dr. Ferhan Atici, the faculty advisor for the AMS Graduate Student Chapter.
The WKU community eagerly anticipates the positive impact that this collaboration will have on the academic and professional growth of its students in the realm of mathematics.
