- Wednesday, April 24th, 2013
On Tuesday, April 23rd, campus and community groups got together to participate in CANstruct for a Cause, an event apart of WKU National Volunteer Week. CANstruct for a Cause challenges organizations and groups to collect the most canned goods, which will be donated to local food banks. Participants build structures representative of their organization and groups. Then, they will take part in a reflective portion to discuss local poverty and food needs
The AIAS Chapter at WKU built a replica of the Eiffel Tower using donated food cans. A total of 351 cans were used to build the 8'-6" structure. All cans used were donated to local food banks. The event collected approximately 1,700 cans.
