2014 Student Grants Awarded

Dr. Muhammad Jahan and Gatton Academy student Jack Wassom received a Gatton Academy 2014 Summer Time Research Internship Grant. Dr. Jahan and Jack have been awarded $3000 for the summer grant and are working on “Characterization of micro electro-discharge machined surface using AFM, SEM and EDX".
Dr. Muhammad Jahan and Gatton Academy student Jack Wassom were also awarded a $3000 Faculty–Undergraduate Student Engagement (FUSE) grant in April 2014.
Hamilton Brindley and Ms. Shahnaz Aly were awarded a $3000 Faculty–Undergraduate Student Engagement (FUSE) grant in April 2014.
Michael Harruf and Dr. Muhammad Jahan were awarded a $3000 Faculty–Undergraduate Student Engagement (FUSE) grant in April 2014.
Summer Abston and Ms. Shahnaz Aly were awarded a $3000 Faculty–Undergraduate Student Engagement (FUSE) grant in January 2014.
Andrea Baker and Ms. Laura Leach were awarded a $3000 Faculty–Undergraduate Student Engagement (FUSE) grant in April 2014.
FUSE grants are designed to support undergraduate students' intellectual development by fostering active engagement in the areas of research, creative and scholarly activities, and/or artistic performances.
All undergraduate students in good academic standing who will reach at least sophomore status at the time of award may apply. FUSE is well-suited for sophomore and junior level undergraduates.
