Research

At the Applied Physics Institute, we cover so many areas of physics that I am no longer a "pure" nuclear physicist. Each Problem is Unique and requires its own unique solution. My work in non-destructive analysis has led me to such fields as atomic physics, coal chemistry, geology, nuclear engineering, electrical engineering, solid state physics, thermodynamics, etc.

I began this work at Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Waste Examination and Assay Facility where I was a senior technical advisor. There, I helped develop new ways to analyze nuclear waste. I also worked briefly as the Technical Advisor at the Y-12 Weapons Plant's Waste Assay Facility.

The Problems of nuclear waste still intrigue me.

Non-destructive analysis techniques for:

Detection of Explosives
Contraband Detection
On-line Analysis of Coal
